چکیده

The survival probability of immobile targets annihilated by a population of random walkers on inhomogeneous discrete structures, such as disordered solids, glasses, fractals, polymer networks, and gels, is analytically investigated. It is shown that, while it cannot in general be related to the number of distinct visited points as in the case of homogeneous lattices, in the case of bounded coordination numbers its asymptotic behavior at large times can still be expressed in terms of the spectral dimension d and its exact analytical expression is given. The results show that the asymptotic survival probability is site-independent of recurrent structures (d2) it can strongly depend on the target position, and such dependence is explicitly calculated.

Large deviation functions in a system of diffusing particles with creation and annihilation.

Large deviation functions for an exactly solvable lattice gas model of diffusing particles on a ring, subject to pair annihilation and creation, are obtained analytically using exact free-fermion techniques. Our findings for the large deviation function for the current are compared to recent results of Appert-Rolland et al. [Phys. Rev. E 78, 021122 (2008)] for diffusive systems with conserved p...

Exact Solution of Two-species Ballistic Annihilation with General Pair-reaction Probability

The reaction process A + B → ∅ is modelled for ballistic reactants on an infinite line with particle velocities vA = c and vB = −c and initially segregated conditions, i.e. all A particles to the left and all B particles to the right of the origin. Previous models of ballistic annihilation have particles that always react on contact, i.e. pair-reaction probability p = 1. The evolution of such s...

Singlet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space

In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered,  but our information about  the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as  scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...

Survival probability of a diffusing test particle in a system of coagulating and annihilating random walkers.

We calculate the survival probability of a diffusing test particle in an environment of diffusing particles that undergo coagulation at rate lambda(c) and annihilation at rate lambda(a) . The test particle is annihilated at rate lambda(') on coming into contact with the other particles. The survival probability decays algebraically with time as t(-theta;) . The exponent theta; in d<2 is calcula...

Diffusion-limited Reaction in One Dimension: Paired and Unpaired Nucleation

We consider the dynamics of diffusing particles in one space dimension with annihilation on collision and nucleation (creation of particles) with constant probability per unit time and length. The cases of nucleation of single particles and nucleation in pairs are considered. A new method of analysis permits exact calculation of the steady state density and its time evolution in terms of the th...
